Why L. A. Pourquoi Paris Favorite Lines

What’s up readers? It’s the 23rd day of Blogtober! If you don’t know what Blogtober is, it is a series I am conducting that starts from the first of October wherein I post on my blog everyday until Halloween. πŸŽƒπŸ“šπŸπŸ“–πŸ‚πŸƒβ€

In this blogpost, I’m going to share my favorite lines from the book, “Why LA Poirquoi Paris?” I did a book review of this book so if you’re interested, you can check it outΒ hereΒ and without further ado, let’s jump right into my favorite lines. ☺

“Lining both banks of the Seine, the open-air Bouquinistes stalls, which sell second-hand books, rare magazines, postcards, and old advertising posters, are a definitive Parisian experience. The name comes from bouquiner, which means to read constantly (with pleasure).”

“The styles in Paris can be described as excentrique, romantique, classique, sporty, sophistiquΓ©, arty, and sexy.”

“The focus is on the quality of lifeβ€”people work to live, rather than live to work (as in LA), and material signs of success are looked down upon.”

“Angelenos have a passionate interest in food β€”it’s no coincidence that the term β€œ foodie” has gained great popularity here. LA cuisine is fresh, seasonal, inventive, and caters to the health-conscious.”

“Los Angeles is a playground for world-class chefs to show off to an influential and appreciative audience.”

“Los Angeles overflows with eating and drinking pleasures, from the gourmet to the casual. The LA food culture just keeps innovating. The culinary mashups make it one of the most exciting cities in the world for food.”

“Paris is not generally a producerβ€” it is where products from all over the world converge. It is here that the respective qualities of every type of food are most appreciated, and put to the best use, to satisfy Parisians’ sensuality.”

“Restaurants are like theaters; they have their stage and their backstage.”
